PROJECT STRIFE
Common Nyran Humans
The humans born in Artia and some of the surrounding areas on Nyra share similar characteristics to the humans of earth. Their secondary sex characteristics are the same, and their general shape and proportions are the same. There are some differences they all share, however.
Generally, the humans born on Nyra have longer necks and sloping shoulders. They're tall (around 6 feet) and both male- and female-bodied individuals are around the same height (so one is not shorter than the other). Their skin tone is typically pale to tan, their hair varies from curly to wavy, and both have body hair (although it shows up lighter on female-bodied individuals).
Culturally, those who identify as women are better regarded as community leaders and stationary merchants in the market places while those who identify as male are more nomadic and may find themselves travelling around the wilderness around them. Non-binary and trans individuals get the freedom to pick where they feel they belong (even if it's doing their own thing) and, while still a little misunderstood, are not considered outside of the ordinary.
Darker colors and warm colors are considered more feminine while paler/more muted and cooler colors are considered more masculine. Masculine clothing typically reveals more skin than feminine clothing, however it's not out of the ordinary for all genders to wear whatever clothing they're more comfortable with, and as such it's not something often commented on or seen as strange. There is no dress or skirt-like clothing in Artian culture.
Bold patterns painted, woven into, or embroidered on clothing (such as wings, pictoral patterns, and symbols) are typically only worn by those who are rich enough to afford it. There are some symbols that are personal and are very community-centric, leading to them being taboo to use outside of those communities. Fighting between any communities is typically spurred by the stealing or copying of personal symbols and the appropriation or misinterpretation of said symbols.
On Artia, those with a special brand of mutation often referred to as "Blue Hair" are sold into slavery and given off to The Leader as children and young adults. Being a blue hair means that one's hair has a gradient tone to it, something sort of metalic that shimmers in the light. These gradients come in blue-purple, gold-brown, orange-red, purple-orange, gold-green, and green-blue shades.
Note: Much like on earth, these are not the only human races in Myrhl. This race is the common race around Artia. Other human races will be opened for characterization in the future as they are discovered.
Important Notice: Blue Hairs are restricted and unobtainable unless otherwise stated.

Character Races
The following races are for you to choose from for your Project Strife character. These races are to be used only for Project Strife and are not allowed for personal use outside of this project.
Artian Zyr
Zyr are typically quiet peoples who enjoy their lives and live in peace with other races. Their skin tones vary in hue and saturation, but all follow the triyad of blue, purple, and pink for a color scheme. They're typically hard workers and prefer to keep quiet and follow orders rather than lead.
Women are those who consider themselves female-minded and are political and religious leaders who help look after the spirituality among their people. Men are those who consider themselves male-minded and are typically the ones who hunt and gather, as well as take care of their families and communities. They are much larger than their female-bodied counterparts, however are typically gentler and may even refuse to speak to those they do not respect as a leader.
Gender is relative to the Zyr, as they can change their physical genitalia whenever they deem necessary (typically for procreation purposes). Being male- or female-bodied does not matter to them so much as what you define yourself as regardless of body size or shape. Those who don't identify with a gender are regarded as angelic and holy and are typically raised to speak to their gods and teach the women around them what they've heard.
Nudity is considered natural and clothing unnatural, so, to a Zyr, wearing clothing is offensive and taboo. Most do not care what cultures outside of their own do, however if they see one of their own race wearing clothing they may become skeptical or judgemental and find it extremely offensive to the point of shunning that individual. Jewelry and makeup are acceptable, however.
Zyr do become Soldiers and are able to apply for the Academy, however who they apply through matters. Some Zyr can find someone sympathetic to their religious beliefs and go through a specialized program that allows them to mingle without clothing, however if enough students complain or if they don't carry around a slip that explains why they act the way they do, they may be forced into clothing.
Generally, Zyr make up the more religious and secretary aspect of the SOLDIER Program and are usually placed into jobs where their nudity will not get in the way of their work (aka they are rarely sent out onto the battlefield). There is huge debate between the Zyr whether or not all of this behavior is acceptable or not, and is often too controversial of a subject to bring up among light conversation.
Women have been known to scar themselves with symbols and markings of their god/desses to show both their faith as well as loyalty to their gods. Males are not always included in on religious activities and are therefore more sheltered and should never have a scar upon them - even from an injury - because they are so holy.
Note: Much like with humans, these are not the only Zyran races in Myrhl. This race is the common race around Artia. Other Zyran races will be opened for characterization in the future as they are discovered. Zyrs are typically very religious and follow strict taboos. Pay attention to their characteristics before you apply!

Gurg
Gurgs Left: 2
Class Requirement: Poor Civilian
Gurgs are mean and seclusive individuals who prefer living in the wilds and slums of Artia rather than within the cities. They refuse to leave their homeland due to territorial and loyalty mindsets and as such have remained the same for hundreds of years, which has led to them warring with a lot of the neighboring races - some who were simply defending themselves, and some who were trying to eradicate them completely.
They're typically rude and inconsiderate of those around them and do whatever they want before conforming to whatever someone else wants (unless the other individual is trusted or pays very well). They tend to be racist against other species and races as well, and will selectively pick-and-choose their clients and their friends depending on their race, appearance, gender, and personality.
They, as a people, are also constantly paranoid and afraid of things that are different from them. They hate playing into someone else's hand simply because they are prideful and stubborn, but not all of them are as terrible as they seem. Gurgs are hunted for their fur and often the target of plenty of abuse and violence, as centuries of fighting for their rights has lead them to become terribly mean and bitter. Some Gurgs are born cruel, but most were made that way due to the world around them and a bitter older generation's upbringing.
Women keep their body completely furred and prefer to be as fluffy and large as possible, while men shave their bodies sans their chest and genital area. Gender is fairly restrictive amon the Gurgs, and if you do not conform to either "male" or "female," you can be seen as untrustworthy or deceptive because they themselves are deceptive and untrustworthy. Trying to trick a Gurg, whether in accident, prank, or malice, may lead to terrible consequences.
Gurgs are typically merchants and theives, and most of them hate Soldiers with a passion. They will often refuse to acknowledge any other Gurgs who are not like them and may try to kill those who have joined the SOLDIER Program if they see fit. They're unforgiving bastards who prefer to keep themselves on top and those they see as beneath away from them.
Gurgs are a matriarchical race, and as such, are prone to heavy doses of misandry. It's not uncommon for women to have higher-powered jobs while men may even be slaves to their female counterparts - although slavery is always mutual. As in, no slave was taken by force and has agreed to be one willingly, knowing what they were getting into beforehand. It's one thing they're proud of their men for, and take good care of men who endure slavery and hard labor to please their female Masters.
Note: Gurgs are Artia-centric and do not come from anywhere else. They do not travel outside of Nyra and are very strict on how they behave, so pay attention to the characteristics before you apply!
