PROJECT STRIFE
Ayumu is the young genderfluid protagonist of the story. Currently, she's living on Artia with her four children and her hunting partner/mentor, Nayim. The Academy Students have been released for the summer which means the SOLDIER Program will be opening soon. Now all she has to do is decide if she wants to join or if she wants to stay out another round.
Nayim is one of the oldest living individuals Artia has ever seen. He's seen plenty in his day, and is now living week by week in Artia while taking care of his small community of families as a whole. He is Ayumu's mentor as well as her hunting partner/mentor, and seeks her survival as much as his own. That's why he discourages her from looking into the Program. Soldiers aren't trustworthy anymore.
This Soldier had Ayumu's back when she was hunting illegally in the winter. She thinks about him from time to time, especially since he seems to pop back up every once in a while to help her out.
Why is he so determined to help her?
This creature is a common reoccuring figure in Ayumu's nightmares. What could it mean? Is he a sign that she shouldn't go through the program? Does he represent her unconscious will to survive? He's emaciated - is he her personified hunger?
Why won't he stop giggling?

Captain Devoltn'er was one of the scientists who created Project Strife. She went through hell and back, however doesn't seem apologetic about the atrocities she's committed and is determined to work on a cure for the disease she created. There's something about her determination that seems to cover up something rather sinister underneath, though.
That, and she seems quite interested in a certain blue haired civilian...
Aga'tha is a brothel queen located in the largest brothel on Artia, Death Divine. She owns the brothel and runs the country of Nyra, as well as Nyra's biggest slave and sex slave trade industry. Her empire is built on the backs of those she's trampled, and there seems to be nothing that will stop her from getting what she wants.
And what she wants is that Blue Haired civilian named Ayumu.
