Captains and Lieutenants
Officers

Officers are one step up from the common soldier and have proven themselves as valuable team players. They are often kept on the Floating Continent until something absolutely dire happens on the surface, which means their access to the surface is limited. They are also the teachers of their squads and take in the new recruits from the Academy and help correct bad habits formed and show them the best ways to survive. One officer is typically assigned to a platoon that is then sent to the surface once every six months to learn about the class system, how it functions, and how to reinforce it.

An officer who disobeys a Captain or Lieutenant runs the risk of being demoted. An officer who disobeys a General may be executed or exiled.

Captains and Lieutenants are typically the highest on the food chain you will deal with as a Soldier, and are hardly ever seen by Civilians. They are never allowed to leave the Floating Continent unless their work absolutely requires them to, and they are in charge of their specific family given in their squad. There are at least 100 families within one squad, which means there are 100 captains and lieutenants under each squad emblem.

Captains and Lieutenants are typically so like-minded and connected that they function as one body and are grouped together much like a Ship Captain and their First Mate. Captains aren’t expected to be very socially inclined, so Lieutenants typically bark out the orders, make public appearances, and are the real face of their Captain - who is then the backbone and overall moving force behind a family.

A lieutenant who disobeys a Captain may be punished. Any captain who disobeys a General runs the risk for demotion.

The Leader is the Emperor of the story and the supreme head over the Militia as well as a general guide over the surface government. They do not mingle in surface politics too often, however may be called to intervene if one city has problems with another. Their face has never been seen and their presence is only really known by those who live on the Floating Continent with them, and the noble civilians, who often deal with them as some sort of final God-like figure that can and does solve anything and everything (so long as it’s not a petty squabble.

The Leader is typically seen as divine, benign, nurturing, and caring - although is often considered a fictional figure head by those who are Middle Class and Poor.

The Leader answers to no one.

There are 5 Generals that run the entire militia. They live on the Floating Continent and may come and go as they please. Typically, the generals do not appear unless something major has happened or if someone is being suspicious. They also are allowed to stir up problems for the Soldiers if things seem too stagnant and will be the main pushers for plot progression.

The Generals have the final say in a decision, so long as The Leader has approved it.

Non-Playable Classes

Alongside those classes you can apply for, there are also some that are inaccessable to the public. Officers are typically hand-picked by myself, while the Generals have been established since the conceptualization of this project.
