PROJECT STRIFE
Common Termonology
Here are some common terms found in Project Strife. This list will be updated as the story progresses.
Monster: A creature that is inhuman, but also wild and unpredictable. They're often unique enough to
keep from being confused with non-human races. Monsters are the major threat
to the people of Myrhl.
Civilian: Civilians are those who live on the surface of Myrhl, and range from rich, middle class, to poor.
Capitol: A centralized city where the government has the most activity and connecton to the surface.
Slums: The outermost areas around cities, often where ruins of old civilizations' buildings are and where
the poorer classes take refuge.
Artia: The main capitol of the continent Nyra. Artia is the capitol in the main storyline.
Nyra: A continent of relative size (somewhere around Australia's size) and where the main storyline takes place.
Nyra is known for its spices as well as it's favor in the Leader's eyes. It is also rumored that
the Leader was born first in Nyra.
Myrhl: The name of the planet that Project Strife takes place on.
SOLDIER Program: A governmental project that recruits individuals on the surface to train against monsters.
Soldiers make up the bulk of the military as well as the governmental force of Myrhl. There is a strong
conflict between Soldiers and lower class civilians.
Soldier: A trained member of the Military who is to be respected and obeyed without question.
Squad: Squad is the overarching term describing different designations of soldiers and helps those who hear
the term to understand what specific section a soldier may be in. Squads are often known for one type of
attribute they specialize in, such as a branch of science or a task of purification.
Family: A family is a group of individuals who are close to each other. This may refer to blood relatives,
a bunch of friends, or a small platoon/town within a squad. There are ten to fifteen families to one squad, and
each family lives within its own town.
Community: Communities are large gatherings of families. For instance, a squad is also a community simply
because it has smaller families that make up that squad. On the surface, a community is just another term
for a group of several families (often blood related) who live and survive together in the same building.
Bundle: A bundle is the term used for a gathering or grouping of different squad families into one team. For
instance, bundles contain 5 families of different squads.
Bundles often compete with each other for bragging rights as well as to keep up morale.
Strife: The Strife Virus (also just called Strife) was created by three scientists to end a world war thousands of years
ago. Unfortunately, all it does is turn people into monsters when they become too stressed.
Odepius Trees: Odepius trees are huge trees who grow as tall, if not taller, than earth's Redwoods.
Their characteristic branches weave outwards in zig-zag patterns and are fairly difficult to climb.
Odepius, in Artian language, means old, wise, or knowledgeable.
