Demotions

Just like a soldier who has been promoted or a civilian who has climbed the ranks, you can also fall back down the ladder

if your grip is too slick. Certain types of behavior can lead to demotions in class, and may make you

start over completely if you're not careful.

CIVILIAN

As a civilian, there's not too much to worry about in terms of demotion. However, there are a few things to

keep in mind:

-A Middle Class civilian can lose their Noble and Middle Class rank by losing money

or losing favor withother Nobles and civilians.

-A Merchant's Assistant can be fired by their Merchant.

The loss of rank often happens due to lack of activity, participation, or through in character (IC) interactions.

Rank can be gained again when the promotion criteria are met.

SOLDIER

As a Soldier, there are a few more things to think about when demotion happens:

-A Seargant can be demoted for lack of participation/activity, gaining 3 behavioral strikes,

failing a single mission, if they step out of line with a Lieutenant or higher, or failing to post 2 writing prompts in a row.

-A Privateer can be demoted for less participation/activity, gaining 3 behavioral strikes, failing two missions,

if they step out of line with an Officer or higher, or by failing to post 4 writing prompts in a row.

-A Common Soldier can be demoted to a Surface Soldier if they fail all of their missions or if they

step out of line with an Officer or higher.

The loss of rank is more behavior based for Soldiers. IC interactions also influence whether or not a Soldier

may or may not be demoted, and play more of a part in the outcome of their punishment rather than

being the cause.

NOTE:

Surface Soldiers and Poor civilians can only be executed.
