Promotions

There are several ways to climb the ranks in Project Strife.

Both civilians and Soldiers can prove their work through activity and devotion to their character and the project. Likewise, any misbehavior, inactvity, or failed events may lead to you losing a position you hold.

The application page is here.

CIVILIANS

A Middle Class civilian can become a Noble/Rich Person through:

-Hard Work/Finding a job in the marketplace (which earns you "currency")

-Making money by selling to theives (random events)

-Giving to the Poor (raises support and makes you look good)

If you're a middle class civilian and you want to try and become a part of the aristocracy,

you must submit your request to one of the Generals using the promotion application. They will then decide whether or not

your application is valid enough for promotion.

--

A Poor Class civilian can become a Merchant's Assistant if the following criteria is met:

-You must be fairly well known (high activity among the community)

OR

-You must show your devotion to the craft (5+ consecutive monthly writing prompts finished on time)

If you're a poor class civilian and you want to try to become a Merchant's Assistant, you must first

find the merchant you want to work for and request their assistance. Then, both of you must fill out a simple form

(who's involved (urls + character names), why you both agree, proof of activity) and submit it to the Generals

for finalization. Once a Merchant has three Assistants, they can no longer accept applications.

Poor Class citizen can also become an Academy Soldier through The Academy. To join The Academy, you must:

-Show activity (a few montly writing prompts completed)

-Show dedication (active in the forums/community)

-Prove your worth (fill out an application)

-Provide identification (tell me your URL/provide a link to your blog)

If you're a poor class civilian and want to become an Academy Soldier, you must fill out an application form

(the same one that a middle class citizen fills out to become aristocracy) and provide your URL to the

Generals. You will then be put under trial and must prove yourself through completing a provided writing prompt

by the deadline. If you need an extention, talk to one of the Generals or myself to work something out.

There are set openings for Academy students. Once the opening period has ended, you will not be able to

apply until the next opening period.

SOLDIERS

An Academy Soldier can become a Common Soldier if the following criteria is met:

-You must graduate from the Academy (show at least 3 months of activity + complete the Academy's criteria)

-You must show your loyalty (by applying with the reason why you think you're a good Soldier)

-You must have a sponsor (find a Captain or Lieutenant of a squad to take you in)

When you've gone through The Academy and dealt with all the requirements, a student can graduate.

Graduation promotes you into one of two places: the Common Soldier rank, or the Surface Soldier rank.

You do not get to decide your rank outcome, though; the Generals will place you in what they

believe is the appropriate rank and give reason for it. You may petition within a week of

receiving your outcome if you feel you were wrongly placed.

--

If you're a Surface Soldier and you'd like to try out to become a Common soldier, you will

need to follow these steps in order to petition for a rank promotion:

-You must prove your worth (Explain why you think your character is better as a Common Soldier)

-You must complete another round at The Academy (only one writing prompt, however)

-You must pass the next Graduation Period like any other Academy student

Survival on the surface is brutal. If you think you've learned enough and are ready to move on

from the surface Soldier life, you can petition to become a real Soldier and fight among the rest of

your ranks as an honorable part of society. You will need to fill out the application form and explain

why your time on the Surface has proven benefitial and will make you better prepared for life

as a Common Soldier. However, you will also need to prove you learned during your time, and thus

provide one month's writing prompt and pass Graduation.

--

Common Soldiers can become Privateers with enough proof of loyalty. To become a Privateer, you must:

-Stay on top of your paperwork (complete all writing prompts on time)

-Be committed (be active for at least 3 months)

-Pass your missions (pass 3 missions given to you by Captains)

Captains like Soldiers who do their work. In order to prove yourself worthy of gaining more access

to the Floating Continent, you must be timely as well as successful. Submit an application

if you think your work has become outstanding enough to impress your captain!

--

Privateers, through hard work and above-and-beyond loyalty to their squads, can become Seargants.

Seargants must be the following:

-Timely (never miss a writing prompt due date)

-Long-time committed (be active for at least 5 months)

-Successful (pass a total of 5 missions)

-A leader (show high interaction among the captain and soldier blogs)

Seargants are the top of their game both physically, mentally, and emotionally. Privateers who think they

have what it takes must show adaptive skills as well as activity amongst their peers. People need to know who they

are and what they stand for! If you're a privateer and you meet this criteria, send an application in

and see what the Generals have to say!

----

NOTE:

Automatically applying for a position does not guarantee you will receive it.

If you apply to any of these positions, but are not promoted, you can always try again the next

application round. Please do not complain if you do not meet the criteria. Feel free to ask a question

if something is not clear!
